Notice: Weekly scheduled malware scan on staff computers

Dear Staff,

In order to ensure the security of your computer, we have implemented a scheduled malware scan every Thursday at 12:00 p.m.

This scan is specifically designed to detect and eliminate any newly discovered malware that may pose a threat to your workstation.  Rest assured, the scan has been optimized to minimize any impact on your computer’s performance.  It has been configured to consume less than 40% of the CPU processing power, ensuring that it does not burden your system and your work.  Please note that the duration of the scan will vary depending on the number of data files stored on your hard disks.  In most cases, it takes several hours to complete.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this process, as it is crucial for maintaining a secure computing environment.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the malware scanning process, please do not hesitate to reach out to the ITSC helpdesk at ext. 160 or via email at itsc@hsu.edu.hk.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our systems safe and secure.

Best Regards,
