The Multimedia Commons is a specialized facility engineered to support computationally intensive tasks, from complex 3D environment design to professional-grade multimedia post-production. To mirror the diverse technology landscape of the creative industries, we offer a unique dual-platform environment. This includes 10 Apple Mac Studios and 10 high-end Windows-based PCs, ensuring students gain experience with a variety of industry-standard hardware. Every workstation is fully licensed with a suite of creative tools, including Apple’s Final Cut Pro and the complete Adobe Creative Cloud collection. Furthermore, each computer is paired with a high-resolution, color-accurate display, which is crucial for professional development in the multimedia sector. We invite you to come and experience a professional-level creative environment.
To enhance the learning experience at HSUHK, the Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC) will dedicate several days each month for all staff and students to use the Multimedia Commons. These open-access days are perfect for personal development or working on academic projects. The schedule for the upcoming month will be announced on this page, so please check back for updates.
All dates stated below are available for all staff and students on a first-come, first-served basis. No prior booking is required for these open sessions. Just enter and tap your student/staff card on the registration machine when you arrive. Each session runs from 9 AM to 5 PM, (including the lunch hour). Please check the guidelines below for lab safety and regulations. All users must follow these guidelines for any kind of operation.
